FALL INTO WORDS PARADE TOMORROW!

EES will hold its annual Fall Into Words Parade tomorrow, October 29th. Please read the following information carefully so that you are fully informed of the changes. Students, with the exception of kindergarten, may come to school dressed in their costume (over their clothes), as they will be changing to complete the remainder of the school day.  Kindergarten students will be assisted with their costumes in the classrooms. The parade will begin at 9:30 am, starting with our 5th graders.

This year, due to field conditions from today’s rain, we will have the parade in front of the school (bus loop area ELMS & EES).  Our staff will place cones to mark the parade route.  Guests are invited to line up out front, along the parade route beginning at 9:15AM after buses have cleared and all students are in the building. In order to maintain a safe and secure environment during the festivities, we will be unable to accommodate visitors within the building before or after the parade.  Selected volunteers will be provided with a special pass for the day when they sign-in and present ID to front office.  We will not be permitting adults without this pass to enter the building after the parade.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

COSTUMES: We ask that parents help children to choose appropriate costumes. Avoid costumes that perpetuate violence, have any blood, gore, scary masks, or contain any type weapon.  Parents or other adults joining the festivities as a volunteer or spectator must follow these same guidelines if they elect to dress-up.

PARKING: As you know, parking is extremely limited. We are asking that guests park in the annex parking lot (up the hill, near Montgomery Rd). For safety reasons, cars will not be permitted in the bus loop from 9:00am – 11:00am tomorrow morning.

INCLEMENT WEATHER: In the case of unexpected inclement weather on October 29th, the parade will be canceled.  A news alert will be sent by 8:00am tomorrow morning if it is decided to cancel the parade.  Students will still be able to bring/wear their costumes to school.

ALTERNATE ACTIVITY: If you do not want your child to participate in the parade, please contact your child’s teacher or the principal, Mrs. Anoff at debra_anoff@hcpss.org or 410-313-5006. For children who do not participate, an alternate activity will be provided during the parade.
