It's that time of year - time to set up teams for the Battle of the Books! Fifth grade students have all received a presentation in the last week on the Battle of the Books, a reading competition for fifth graders in Howard County Public Schools. It is completely optional for students to join. Please see the slideshow here that classes were shown that share important dates regarding information sessions, mandatory coaches' meetings, and the titles of 12 books that teams will read if they choose to participate. If your child is interested in becoming part of team, regardless of whether or not they have a team set up yet, please fill out the Battle of the Battle Interest Form.

 

If a team has been formed (five students and one adult coach), please print out the attached form, "Battle of the Books (BoB) Team Info." Send the information sheet back into school to give to Ms. Green or Mrs. Tiralla when it has been completed. This will help us determine how many groups EES will have and who may still need support in getting a team together.
